A good home warranty can save you money and provide peace of mind knowing you are protected against appliance and system failures.

However, finding the right home warranty can be a confusing, frustrating, and daunting task.

Luckily, Choice Home Warranty makes it easy to choose the right plan to fit your needs. And with a wide range of additional options, you can tailor a plan to also include your wants.

Let’s lighten your load by exploring Choice Home Warranty’s coverage and plans in detail.

Home Warranties Decoded

Unlike homeowner’s insurance which covers structural features, home warranties repair and replace your home’s primary appliances and systems, such as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.

Furthermore, a home warranty contract is not mandatory upon the purchase of a home as it is with homeowner’s insurance.

Home warranty plan costs depend on the home’s location, the amount of protection you seek, the size of your home, and your home’s style or design.

No problem! You can customize your coverage to include any of the following items in either plan:

  • Second refrigerator or a stand-alone freezer
  • Septic system and septic tank pumping

Items Not Covered by Choice Home Warranty

While it doesn’t matter how old your home appliances and systems are, they do need to be in good working condition at the time you sign the contract.

A home inspection is not required before signing a contract. However, ensuring all items are in good working condition can save you headaches in the future.

Unknown pre-existing conditions or items damaged due to misuse, abuse, or failure to clean or maintain them are not covered by any of Choice Home Warranty plans.

Additionally, in general, standard home warranties do not cover structural home features.

Events, such as insulation damage due to natural disasters or water leaks are not covered by Choice Home Warranty. In such cases, homeowner’s insurance should cover those issues.

Review Choice Home Warranty’s Terms of Service Agreement for a list of all the items not covered.

When Does My Coverage Start?

Your home warranty begins 30 days after signing the contract and all payments are completed.

Your new policy can begin as soon as your old one expires only if you can supply proof of previous coverage with another home warranty provider and there is no lapse in coverage.
